This week brought good news for Amazon sellers and shoppers alike. Amazon has announced that they have extended same-day and one-day delivery to thousands more Prime members across the country, with the service now available to over 8,000 cities and towns, up from 5,000 previously.
As Amazon’s Prime benefits continue to expand, not only those in major metro areas can reap the rewards of lightning fast delivery, but shoppers in small towns across the country can benefit, as well. This announcement comes just in time for late Christmas shoppers, who now have the advantage of ordering in the days leading up to the holiday with same- or next-day delivery available.
“We are continually investing in Prime, adding more selection and making delivery faster and more convenient,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President of Amazon Prime. This is obviously great news for everyone, but for sellers in particular, this news means increased holiday revenue from last-minute shoppers who know they can count on quick delivery.
As Amazon Prime memberships continues to grow, and member benefits continue to increase, it’s extremely important for brands to work with a trusted partner who can fulfill orders through Amazon’s FBA program, ensuring timely delivery. If you’re selling your own products on Amazon and can’t offer Prime delivery, or your current selling partner isn’t taking advantage of Amazon FBA, let’s talk about how we can ease your logistical challenges and delight your customers.
As a final note, Amazon has released their 2017 holiday shipping schedule. The dates below denote the final day for shoppers to place orders through Amazon’s various retail channels.
