What Is a MAP Policy Violation? | SupplyKick

One of the most common frustrations we hear from manufacturers is that re-sellers are violating their MAP policy. To put it simply, MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price, which is the lowest price that a seller agrees to display on a product for sale.

As re-sellers gain access to your product, they may violate your MAP policy by listing your products at a discounted rate on online marketplaces like Amazon. Many times they do this because of multiple e-commerce sellers crowding the market or because they don't care about the brand price integrity. To make matters worse, Amazon rarely enforces seller pricing agreements, meaning that your brand reputation and your ability to sell to brick and mortar stores takes a hit due to the lower price point.

SupplyKick Partner Success Manager Jake Smith recently shared a helpful MAP policy breakdown.
